It's My Blog and I Can Give Props if I Wanna...Give Props if I Wanna!
Last night I took in the Broadway play AUGUST: Osage County, starring Phylicia Rashad. It's an outstanding piece of work. Phyicia Rashad plays the pill-popping, stair climbing, half crazy Violet, who makes sensitive family moments unbearable with her non-stop insults, and berating of her dysfunctional family members. If I knew dysfunctional families could be such a hit on Broadway I would have submitted a script years ago....Sorry, I digress.
I highly recommend it, as I've never laughed so hard and so much at a Broadway play in my life......and I've seen my share of plays, like a whopping total of 2..kidding!
Outside of the fact that I may now have lung cancer after sitting through the chain smoking of Phylicia Rashad's character, the gas bomb that the old woman seated behind us planted on the back of my friend's neck, and my constant staring at some chick who thought it was cool to rock the Kate Gosslin hair cut, it was a fantastic show. With brilliant performances delivered by the entire cast, my personal highlight was when 2 cast members started smoking weed on the side of the stage where we were seated....Yes, you better believe I suddenly got the case of the sniffles. At one point, I sniffed so hard that I think I caught a mosquito that was flying around.
Overall, it was well worth the money...well, my friend invited me for free, so it was well worth the friendship! "That's What She Said"
